Michael Rayner Operations Director
Michael attended West Bridgford School, Nottingham before joining the British Army in 1985. He graduated from Cranfield University, is a member of the Chartered Management Institute, and Association of Project Management.
Michael has retired from the British Army after a 24 year career that has seen him live and work in Germany, Brunei, Hong Kong, Nepal, Northern Ireland, Canada, Oman, Iraq and Afghanistan. He has been responsible for a number of complex military equipment programmes; ranging from weapons effects simulators, target location and navigation systems, to Main Battle Tanks. He has served with the Ghurkhas and the Royal Army of Oman.
Michael has been responsible for the successful management of all programmes, projects, and business as usual activities of a large scale organisation that led to increased efficiencies and improved effectiveness across resource, financial, and personnel functional areas.
In 2007 Michael deployed to Iraq as the Operations Director of the King’s Royal Hussars Battle Group, planning and conducting operations in Basra City and the Iran/Iraq border. In 2009 Michael deployed to Afghanistan as the Operations Director of the Stability Division responsible for the planning and day to day management of multi national military and civilian reconstruction and development teams.
Michael left the British Army in 2010 to pursue a new career path. He brings to Zenith a wealth of senior management, planning and operational experience.
Michael is married with 2 children and enjoys a variety of sporting activities
